Building a Data Masking Factory

• Find data: Orion EIIG can support different implementation scenarios and workflows to identify and catalog the various types of sensitive data. This work is usually carried out by Data and Cybersecurity Analysts who are tasked with putting together a comprehensive listing of enterprise-wide data elements.

• Access the situation: This phase requires oversight from the EIIG  Administrator who is responsible for using the tool's capabilities to determine if sensitive information is present and the location of the data, while the Security Administrator is evaluating the ideal data masking or data redaction technique.

• Implement masking: EIIG  has unique scalability to support data masking techniques across the entire enterprise, taking into account current and future on-premise and cloud-based data architectures.

• Test data masking results: QA and testing are required to ensure the masking configurations yield the desired results. If they do not, then the EIIG Administrator and Data Steward working with the DBAs will restore the database to the pre-masked state, tweak or change the masking algorithm or technique, and complete the data masking process once more.
